About
the Illinois PGA Foundation
The Illinois PGA Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 organization
and is the charitable arm of the Illinois Section
PGA, one of the forty-one geographical areas that
comprise the Professional Golfers Association of
America (PGA of America). Established in 1991 with
a vision of teaching the values and lessons of the
game to young people, Illinois PGA Professionals
serve as role models and mentors for youth in local
communities whose lives have often been far removed
from such lessons. Through Foundation programming
children are encouraged to strive for excellence
on and off the golf course through golf instruction,
mentoring activities, summer job placement and scholarship
opportunities.
Linking golf's promising future to its distinguished
past, the Illinois PGA Foundation also proudly administers
the Illinois Golf Hall of Fame. The Illinois Golf
Hall of Fame recognizes and honors the achievements
of the inspirational figures that have contributed
to the rich history of the game in the prairie state.
The Glen Club in Glenview, Illinois has served as
the home of the Hall of Fame exhibit since 2001.
Through these Foundation efforts the Illinois PGA
stands out as one of the most active and community-minded
PGA Sections in the country.
